There ARE creatures lurking in the dead of night… Seventeen year old Nikki and her twin brother, Nathan, move to the small town of Shore Lake to start over after their mother is brutally attacked. When a missing teenager washes up on shore during their first night at the cabin and there are whispers of vampires in Shore Lake, Nikki begins to realize that there are things roaming in the darkness that are far more sinister than what they left behind in the big city.
This has to be my favorite Vampire book ever. I don’t even know where to begin. I should start off by saying I don’t recommend this book for younger readers as it does contain some sex related things. Also there is some swearing within this story. Oh, and did I mention I got this book free on Amazon? That’s right kids, free eBook on Amazon, FREE.
Although there were some spelling and grammar mistakes in the book (minor ones though) the story was excellent. I loved following Nikki and thought she was a great character. Kristen captured the teenage life perfectly which made me relate to Nikki more than any other character before.
The romance and action were perfect and evenly distributed. It wasn't all romance, but it also wasn't all action which I loved. It’s these kind of stories I love when the author balances the romance in with the thrill of the story.
Holy vampires. Although some parts of the story were predictable, there were a pile of unexpected events that occurred which caught me by surprised. At one point I was at the point of crying because I didn't know what was going to happen next! I defiantly recommend this book to any Vampire lovers.
